Weber 38 compared to EFI

Has anybody had both setups on a 22r? I have found a guy locally that has the parts for an early block 22r to convert to efi. My last outing in the 4runner left me stuck(literally) on some hills, thanks to the carb and my limited time at wheeling.

My questions: What kind of power difference would there be between the two?
Fuel economy? With the price of gas, this can be an issue.
Will I have problems running EFI, if the engine was modded by the previous owner with a cam, headers, and exhaust to match the Weber?

I searched and found many threads comparing the Weber to stock carbs, but I didn't find one comparing the Weber 38 to EFI, especially in an early 22r.

Thanks for any help.

efi if your wheeling. It never misses a lick. Not near the power as a 38 but significant difference in fuel mileage. 38 If your drag racing.

I went to colorado last year with a buddy that had weber carb he was constantly battling the altitude/oxygen adjustment problem and has swithed to an EFI setup for this years run, but we spend alot of time from 7k to 14k feet altitude.

My mileage isn't bad on the highway if I am not fighting hills or hauling ass. When I drove the truck back from MN to TX, going between 55 -60, I got over 19 mpg....but that was taking it easy. The truck has 35's and 4.88's.
It needs the timing adjusted now, so the mpg is down and its only running good on premium .

It sounds like I will lose power, but gain off road ability.
