Seattle Mid-Week WA4ROC Run, July 17th

Okay, who's up for another run? There was some interest expressed in exploring more of the Mt. Gardner area. There was a whole lot of pinstriping going on, so I could be convinced to try a different spot (Denny Creek?).

At this point I'm in, but the week is getting crowded and I may have to be out. I won't know for sure until Thursday morning.

I'd like to avoid more pinstriping if possible, but it's not a huge deal. My arms can use the workout.

Shoot I'd like to go but I have to install my (cough) Ford Taurus fan on Thursday morning after I get off work. I work tonight also. I am confident that this fan will solve my heat problems. I think that I will install a new thermostat also. Wish me luck!

Well, if you'd like we could explore some FS Roads out in North Bend...
As far as I know there aren't any 4x4 sections, but there is plenty to drive. The roads are in need of repair, so airing down would still be a good idea. What do you think?

I'm not so sure I can make it now.
My Thursday might be booked...

I am down for sure! Really dissapointed I missed the first one! However, as I said at the 4ROC meeting, I don't have thursdays free

But hey, I am up for wherever, whenever, as long as I am not working, or teaching!

Jim,

It might not be a bad idea. We won't have a winch within the group, so it might be best not to get into anything too hairy. I do have basic recovery gear. Are you thinking of somewhere off the highway a bit?

Bah, well, I probably won't be going...but here's a rough idea of where it is.

Take exit 34 and go north (left off the exit). Follow that road up for a while and you should have a FS road on the right. I will try to lookup the specifics.

Mainly just a lot of dirt road (with huge potholes). I'll look at a map when I get home...

Since its going to be a small group, I might just take people on the lower Tinkham/powerline area. The section that drops back down on the main road is kind of fun. There is also the hill climb that we did back in the spring on the first run to Tinkham.

Yeah, that's probably a better plan.

That sounds like the bunch of us! Okay, usual plan, meet off exit 42, I-90 east, at or before 7:00PM. CB channel 4. I've got a presentation to give on Friday, so I can't be out too late. We'll be playing around the lower areas of Tinkham Rd., so we won't be traveling too far. Bring your cameras for pics!

Mr. Chemistry...just got my black rims this evening. If you'd like I would be more than happy to test them on your rig...and see if they clear the brake calipers (I'll have free time on Friday evening & Sunday - all day).

These are 15x8 with 3.75" backspacing...lemme know...

(they look good, wish I did it sooner...although my tires look smaller now)

Sorta. I bought a couple new ones to replace my front - 2. The rear 2 were Ok...but they're still about half the tread of the new ones. Oh well.

Anyway, yeah, lemme know whatcha want...

Jim,

Mike and I have been doing some research, and it sounds like we're SOL with the 15 inch rims. The calipers on the tacomas and 4runners are in fact different. It couldn't hurt to give it a shot though. If you're around on Sunday, I could take a trip up to Bend. PM me your number, and I'll give you a ring before I head up. Would probably be in the afternoon.

Hey Guys,
If I get stuff done on my 4runner early I'll meet you guys out there. Picking up the new spare before the shop closes at 6pm and doing an oil change.
Anyone have a one man break bleeder?

I check the post tomorrow.

Jim. Where are the pics of the new rims man!
