Temp Guage not woking
Hi everyone,
Got a temp guage not working, Went to auto part's store for a replacement sending unit. They say there are 2 sender's, one for the gauge and one for the computer. I 1st bought what they said controlled the gauge, look's totally different than what's near the t/stat housing.
I read some place that if the one controlling the computer goes bad the truck will run bad, mine has no running problem, just a gauge that sits on (below) cold
Can anyone tell me me if there are 2, and where the one for the guage is ?
I have an 02 Tacoma prerunner V/6, 3.4 Litre (5VZ-FE), auto trans.
The first bought has a single spade connector and the one near the t/stat housing has a 2-wired plug on it.The 1st was a little over $6.00 and the 2-wired on is $30 and change.
I also bought one of those manuals on disc, and it only show's one on the vehicle and it indicates it is the one near the t/stat housing.
Could it be neither of the sender's or could it just be the gauge itself?
ANY.... help would be a help.

I had to take out the sensor and take it in the compare to get correct one, still went after market as after trading in gauge custers it work occasionally. You probably better off going with factory anyway, I will next time.
