thats the thing ive never really done anything like that. will all the conversions (motor mounts, trans, t-case) cost more than a 22re rebuild? also if i were to do the 4.3 swap would i be better to use the 700r4 or the
w56?

is it a dailey driver or trail machine? if its a dailey driver i would rebuild the 22r, if a trail rig, go with the 4.3, gas will be $4 by the summer.

weeelllllll...with the 4.3 only having 60K on it...it should last a while...buuutttt....the 22RE will last a good 300,000 if rebuilt right...and maintained well...but..i would go with the 4.3...because im used to driving a 3/4 dodge diesel 6spd 4x4...lol

I wouldnt use the W-searies tranny with more power the chevy motor has. It is a pretty good tranny but a r-series or chevy tranny would be better. It sounds like the custom work isnt really your think so cost wise and ease wise the 22re rebuild would be far cheaper and can last a very long time. The 4.3 is also a great powerful motor so its really up to you. Do you mind the 22re's power now? do you see needing the power? can you afford it? I think the 4.3 swap would be great to do but if you dont have the time and money to do it then just do the 22re rebuild and youll be good

well i ive never drove the 22re when it was running good so i dont no if i will be ok with the power it had low compression on all cyls. i just dont want it to take forever to get up to speed. how much would it cost for the 4.3 swap being that i have the motor and trans already?
