My truck just died on the road

I was driving down the road, pushed in the cutch and the rpms dropped and it stalled I managed to get it home. I could keep it from stalling by holding it like 800rpm and up. I need help!

I just went outside to start it, fired right up and idled fine(well as good as it was before)
I don't think the CEL was on when it was stalling

help if we knew what kind of engine you had

this is more prone to the 22r's than 22re's ime. The carbs as they age can do this time to time for no apparent reason and nearly impossible to diagnos exactly. Humidity, fuel, temperature and how gunked up the carb is, all play a complicated role.

Check your distributor cap & rotor, they can do this too.

today I took my truck down the road. when I left my driveway it was idling at 1100(cold), at the end my road(about a 1/2 mi) it was idling at 750 when I got back in my driveway it was trying to idle at like 200 then it stalled. I'm thinking this problem is fuel system related.

could be...maybe a fuel filter or dying fuel pump...I would check elsewhere first. Mine starts fast...idles at 1500 right after start up then goes to about 2100 then gradually declines.

Im guess it's the fuel filter because it runs great for a few min. then runs like crap. I'll let it sit for alittle while and then starts and runs fine, but again a few min. later it runs like crap
