I am getting a set of gears set up and they are tellling me that the pinion is to small for the yoke....i.e...the yoke is to big for the pinion.

Everywhere i have looked i get the same specs for the pinion

1.3785" diamter and 27 splines.

Question being--is this diameter the pinion gear or pinion splines. Year model is not relevant--i am trying to see whether the gears they sent me were wrong or right. The yoke i gave them is off my 1997 3rd set up by Inchworm. Trying to figure out what the measurements are for the spline diameter and pinion lengths are for different years.

Additionally, did the E-locker have a larger pinion spline diameter than all the others?

IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYTHING IS ABOUT F.U.B.R. RIGHT NOW and i am losing patient--Side note--it is not the builders fault--they are just putting the peices together.

Got an answer--the 2000 year and newer V6/turbo 8" diffs have larger pinion spline diameter than the 1999 and older....holy sheets

Makes you feel any better--they also sent me regular gears instead of reverse cut for the front diff.

I've never heard of a 2k and newer having a different pinion gear.

Something tells me they gave you the wrong gear.....
