New 85 4runner!
I finally got one! Needs an engine and a bit of TLC, thinking about using the engine and trans out of my 4x4 p/u (carbed & manual) vs. getting a 22re and bolting it to the automatic that's in it now. But; I'm still on the lookout for a 22re, so if anyone has one that runs and is willing to ship, I may be intrested. My best bet would be just to use the engine I already have though. I have so many options I just kinda have to weigh everything out right now. Also looking for a 2.7 22re out of a 95.5 (or similar) tacoma b/c I was told that it could work w/ an adapter. Pics will be up in the next few days! I'm so happy!

nice score! you might want to think about rebuilding the original motor, if its feasible. that way, you can do it exactly the way you want, header, cam, o/s valves etc and feel good that you did it all yourself.

Do what?
I'm planning on either selling my 4x4 and using that money to get a 22re, or since the 4runner has 4:88's in it, swapping the engine and manual transmission from my 4x4 p/u into the 4runner. only problem is that I will have to find a full wiring harness for a 4runner with a manual transmission and non fuel injected. Those are the two major options. I have an automatic transmission for sale if anyone's intrested.

Here she is!

I also just figured out today that the hardtop bolts to the cab. I guess I figured it would slide and clip on or something. Anyway I'm just glad I have one now. It's going to take a really long time for me to get this thing running, but once it is it's gonna be wicked sweet!

One of the vehicles In my dream list. I'd love an 4x4 85 4Runner either restored or in perfect condition from stock to have as a summer only vehicle. Just for cruizing around with the roof off!
Congrats. Should be a nice rig when it's done!
