four wheel drive will not engage

My 03 Tacoma V6 Auto will not engage front axle from the push button on selector lever. I had it to a NAPA garage and he thinks the 4wd ECU may be bad. If power is applied directly to the actuator on transfer case it goes in 4WD. The fuse is not blown, but has been replaced with a new fuse. If I knew where the 4WD ECU was located I would try replacing it. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Creepy

Here's a link to a manual for a 2001-2004 Tacoma. That might help.

If its the push button type of 4wd then that switch unit is prob bad. The push button ones aren't that strong, if you get any moisture in there they stop working. At the shop I used to work at we replaced multiple chevy 4wd selectors

dude, those auto locking hubs get caked up in dirt and and you gotta clean em everyonce in awhile, just take everything off then put some vaseline in there and put it back together you should be set.
