alarm install quick central locking question

hey,

well i am doing alarm/remote start install on my 94 4runner. i did few installs before but not in a while. and to help things the alarm manual is writen in very poor english.

anyways 4runner wirring diagrams list:

power door lock
power door unlock
door triger

all above wires listed as negative

so the dumb question is do i use positive trigered diagram for the alarm. (+12v, lock, unlock)

also i only need to use lock/unlock wires not the door trigger, right?

p.s. just remembered my car is 5 speed so i will need to bypass clutch switch. can i just connect clutch cancel switch wires or do i need to get the switch by the clutch pedal

thanks guys

thanks dz

usually on the 5-wire locking systems, both lock and unlock wires are held at ground, and one or the other is taken up to +12V to spin the motor. the wire that goes high controls which way the motor spins. i don't know exactly what you're asking, honestly, but maybe that'll help.

does your alarm put out a +12V pulse on its locking wires when you hit the button? if so, just tap into the wires given in a wiring diagram you grab off the interweb somewhere, i believe.

on the 94 you need your alarm to output a negative signal. both wires are in your harness coming from the door. double pulse to open the pasenger side. if you need better tech notes try www.the12volt.com. Use a relay to connect the two wires at the clutch switch to bypass the clutch. i really hope you are installing a starter designed for a manual vehicle.....or else you are dumb and are going to kill children in school yards or parks.....
