Oil in Throttle body.

Some of you may have read that I tore into my engine to replace the valve cover gaskets on my 5VZ-FE with 210k mi on the odometer. I took some pics of the throttle body because I saw what looked like oil to me (even though it looked a lot cleaner than the black stuff that came out of the motor). Does anyone know where this comes from. Is it a sign of a problem or is it normal on an aging motor. Thanks.

(sorry the picture is a little blurry but it's enough to get the idea)

Also, here is a pic of the lower intake. Looks like a lot of carbon buildup to me. I think I will let some Carb cleaner soak into it good and try and wipe as much away as I can.

You know, I have always wanted to know what that stuff was in the TB. I get a lot sometimes in the intake tube that it will pour out....(maybe a few table spoons at most).

Hey,
that is completly normal no worries as I had the same thing. yes it is oil, I think that some vaporized/burned off oil ends up in there. Maybe that he PVC is getting bad?

Cool, glad to hear that you guys don't think it is anything serious. A new PCV will be going on since I broke the darn thing when I was tearing the motor down. (Pretty much a brand new one that I broke )
