What is the deal with Apple "Having the capability to track them" but not wanting to due to some unknown reason.

I have searched and found a few Ipod "trackers" but they only tell you when it has been plugged in not where.

My last Ipod was stolen from my garage while I was doing yard work, and I am pretty sure it was a neighbor kid who grabbed it.

So my question is,

Has anyone been able to or know of a way to find out an i.p. address of where it was plugged in??

Im pretty sure the only way they can track it is if you call apple with your serial # and that person tries to bring it in for service.

Cell phones ESN#'s can also get red flagged when stolen

Really though, cops aren't going to do anything about it. I have had 2 $300 mp3 players stolen and just had to deal...You aren't getting your money back, and you definitely arent getting your ipod back

 

That was the first thing I did was call Apple and thats when I got the info from them that they did not want anything to do with helping me out, they would not even take my serial number down and log it as stolen WTF!!!!

If you go to www.stolenipod.com you can register it as stolen but it will only be traced IF someone enters the serial number into THAT site.


This is just crap, I am no computer hacker but I KNOW that there is someone out there that can trace these things with little effort.

I have a friend that does skip tracing for a collection agency and he scared the crap out of me just on the info he got on me just from my cell #!!!
He had mortgage info, job info, family addresses and THEIR job info, pretty much anything you would need to really screw someone.
