TRD Stainless Steel High response muffler (Pics)
Well I went to the dealer today for the Surf's oil and filter change. We put in Mobil 1 5W-30 and a TRD Sport oil filter.
Then the service manager says, "Oh, your muffler is here. Want it on now?" It has a nice deep sound, not loud, and and the gas pedal seems more responsive.

Thanks guys. I just went for a spin and it actually growls a little more inside than outside.
And you can call me a liar but I swear it has more spunk than before. I'll probably get worse gas mileage, cause now I got a lead foot.
Jboy- No cats here. It goes up over the rear axel and about halfway, it connects to a large muffler.
Chris- I really wish there was a way I could help you with parts from here
. I got somebody a badge and I guess it languished in customs for a couple days and they popped the box open but finally let it go. I can't imagine what they would do with something big and or expensive.

Woody,
Some cool stuff there. How about adding some sound deadening material and carpet padding in there to kill the added interior noise? Though i also suspect that after about a week, your ears will get "used to it".

A freeflow will open up some horespower to you in the space from about 2400 on up to redline (on a 3.4L). But, to get it, you'll find that you've lost some torque on the bottom end.

Actually, is that a freeflow muffler, or at least one that has less than the 5 chambers of the (US) stock? If so, then you _DO_ have more power.

Bob- It's not really any louder than the stock, decibel wise, but it has a different, more throaty growl. I like it.

Thanks Mark, thats good to know. Acceleration to pass someone or when I give it a little "goose" is where I notice the difference the most.

Welcome to the fun of a freeflow!
I have a VERY noticeable difference when kicking it above, say, 40mph. It's a LOT of fun to kick it up and around a Camaro, 'Stang, etc.
Not that I could beat them in a drag, just that it makes them double-take when they find me passing them, and the last they knew I was sitting in their rearview mirror.
