Recommend separates an and amp for a 97 Runner under $200

I just purchased my 97 a week ago and love it and am quite surprised with the stock stereo and would be happy with it but the cd player seems to be on the way out and so I've started doing some stereo shopping and have decided I'd like to upgrade the stock speakers and would like to amp them as well.

I was thinking about the PHOENIX GOLD RSD-65CS RSD SERIES http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PHOEN...spagenameZWDVW for the fronts and maybe a cadence http://cgi.ebay.com/CADENCE-AUDIO-30...QQcmdZViewItem or phoenix gold amp http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-PH...mZ280186799329

I don't really know if this is good stuff or not and I haven't done a ton of research on this stuff. I'd like to stay under 2-250 dollars for the 6.5 separates and amp. I have a Sony GTX310 for the head unit.

What would you all recommend for me? I listen to pretty much everything.

this looks good too and has all the wiring I'd need included.

for the price range you're working with it looks good. but since you're looking on ebay you might beable to find some better for roughly the same price imo

Well that's good to hear. Thanks for the input.

I think my amp selection needs some work though...

To get the most out of the Rsd's, you need 150wx2 (RMS)

my bad I somehow missed the part that they were only $88. for that price I would go for it.
as for an amp I wouldn't go with anything more than 75x2 RMS. with speakers(mids - his it's more about tuning if you want them to sound good. more power usually means more distorsion if you're not carefull. distorsion kills mids and his with the quickness.

I own these speakers. 150 watts x2 rms, trust me. Good spelling, it's "highs", not "his".

That means absolutely nothing to me. I stand by my comments 100%, and I'm sure countless Rsd owners would agree with me.
