Valve, master cylinder, what?

Hi,

Im lifting my truck with a 3'' tuff country lift kit. Its my first real experience with auto work, and its a learning experience. Anyway, today the axle fell off the jack stand and basicly ripped on the big hose coming down from the (master cylinder, some kind of valve?) attached to the frame right behind the gas tank. Everything seems to be fine, but whatever that big valve thing is toast. It was rusty anyway and about to fall apart, and that was the nail in the coffin. So, what is it and how much can I expect to pay for a new one?

Thanks alot,
James

Hey, ill try to explain it better but ill have to get pics in the morning. It looks like a large valve or pump assembly about the size of a rubiks cube attached to the frame right behind the gas tank. Its attached to the rear brake line, and what i believe to be the proportioning valve on the axle.
