wiring in 4.3 chevy

i am doing a 4.3 vortec swap into a 1986 22r 4x4 truck. i had an 85' 4.3 rebuilt with vortec heads, murine 4 barrel intake, 500 edlebrock carb, using old school non vac. advance distributer with coil on cap and msd 6al box. fuel cell and inline holley red fuel pump. using stock running gear mated to motor using advance adapters bell housing kit. i am running everything as easy as possable. using a tci mini starter (for a small block chevy), 350 2 wire chevy alt., 350 short nose water pump, 350 small block powersteering pump/ toyota ifs steering box ( modified-box high press. hose to fit threads into pump). also running mechanical oil press. and temp gauges. Now what i am not sure of......... how do i wire the motor? my thoughts are can i wire it using power leads that originaly went to the motor and do away with what is not needed. meaning..... what ran to toyota starter run to chevy starter, what ran to toyota distributer run to chevy dist., what ran to toyota alt. run to chevy alt. and so on and doing away with what i don't need. there for using factory wiring to run the motor and all my ignition, lights, and so on. any info, suggestions, help, or direction is greatfully appriciated

1st, no. it is just a wheeling toy. 2nd i am not a wiring genious. just dont know where to start.... rip all the wiring out and start from scratch or try to use what i have. meaning, can i use the stock wiring harness to run this motor. the motor/trans/transfercase are all in/ the dist. alt. starter, water pump, power steering, exhaust manifolds, carb/intake, fuel system are all installed. wiring is my next step, where do i start?

Stop

Your on the right track !. First what tranny are you going to use? 22R so your not fuel injected ? Is the 4.3 TBI, TPI or CPI ? Do you have smog to deal with ? Wiring is easy if you have the donor vehicle. Be prepared for adapters, exhaust, VSS, minor electrical, driveshaft mods, x-case mods, and cross-member mods. I have wiring and info on it all, so just ask.

the motor/trans/transfer case are all in (stock trans and transfer case). transfer case in stock location so the cross member went right back to stock location. used 2" body lift to clearance bellhousing and shifters work using orig. placement. using carb... no fuel injection. using modified stock tubular exhaust manifolds that are on the motor and clear as needed

to run the motor you will only need three wires one to your fule pump that come on ing hot not acc, ignition hot one to the fule pump and you will need to install a regulator for the fule and you need another ign hot source for your hei distributer and thats pretty much it all but your starter just go to your relay and run a wire from the realy to the chevy starter and as for the alt get a plug for the chevy alt and take it to the alt shop let them wire that up its kinda tricky

any other questions i am happy to help wish i woulds have had some doing mine but mine was trail and error and nobody in my town want to help put a 4.3 in a toyota so i was all one my lone some the whole swap

very simple the starter realy should be near the passenger kick panel find the wire that is hot when the key is in start position and run that wire to chevy starter
