'96 4Runner Evap Canister Buzz Sound Fix
I know this has been covered before, but I just made the fix on my '96 Limited and threw together a quick web page showing the repair. Here it is for anyone interested:

oh man, that stinks; after stopping by Toyota Parts of Dallas today, as well as contacting various friends who work at Toyota dealerships, they all confirmed that Toyota did indeed discontinue that part 77701–35010 which I so badly want/need!
Habanero, do you think your local parts guru, MightyMouse, might be able to help me source an oem used one somewhere (e.g. auto salvage yard)?

Possible good find, rw.
hrt4me.... you can try contacting Mr. Mouse. He's got some good resources but considering that the fix will be hit or miss all he could do is his best which I know he would do. I wonder if you'd have to buy the whole canister considering the thing gets taped to the box, assuming a truck with the add-on could be found.
I'd try making one on my own first but I've got a bike bottle for a coolant reservoir so what do I know?

Haha, I have a pint paint can set-up as my front diff vent tube catch can complete with a small fuel filter as a vent on top. Nothing like repurposing an item to meet a need and save the $$. :-)

I'll go back there this morning and see what they can tell me...

I stopped by Toyota of Dallas again today during lunch, and they re-confirmed that although their online website indicates that part is available, it is not; they also re-queried the entire dealer network throughout the country, again to no avail...
