I was wondering how many of you have a body lift and how many don't.
I was talking with the guy who's going to make mine, and he said it looked like everyone in the pictures I showed him had at least a 2" b/l. I got most of my pics from the sliders roundup page: Maniac metal type, Ryans square/round combo.

Let me know, also some good pics would help, like a view on the same level as the slider support bars. That way I can see how much clearance you have between the bar and body. He was also concerned with the bars bending up and blocking the door (mainly on the maniac type) He's done alot of custom fab work on Toyotas and he's concerned about the strength of the frame and all the leverage a slider will put on it. I think Roger's design will be the next type I show him. Thanks for the help!

P.S. I'll try to get some pics of the 4Runner he's working on right now, so far it has a completely fabbed up front end with huge King coilovers and I think he said 16" of travel.

To expand a bit. I don't have sliders yet, but I know Corey had to have his pinchweld trimmed to clear the tubes that go to the frame. I think it depends on the design of the sliders whether you need to trim or not. Body lift eliminates trimming for sure.

 

I"m getting sliders put on at stock height. But I think it is reccommended that if you ever want to body lift ur truck and have sliders, body lift it first and then put the sliders on.

 

Nope, there's no lift on mine either.

One thing that your buddy may be seeing is that the 4Runners tend to look like they have a body lift when you pull off the running boards.

I got mine from Mike at Xtreme Offroad and I didn't need a body lift either.

You have seen mine--no lift. We just cut the pinch weld for clearance--I have no noise. Just make sure you cut it before you install the sliders.
