Can't be of much help with the flowmasters but I have a 24" Magnaflow and it sounds great. Not too loud cruisin' along the freeway.

I've had the 40 and currently have the VORTEX. The VORTEX is deeper and drones less than the 40. The 40 is louder but annoying as balls on the interstate. Here are some VORTEX clips. And a review I did. Feel free to ask questions.

Don't get me wrong, the 40 sounds nice, but the Vortex sounds better IMO. If you are gtoing with flowmaster, I'd look into the 50. It's deeper than the 40.

Are Mags free-flow, chambered, or what?

i have the 40-series and i'm pleased with it...not ricey sounding, yet deeper than stock. and i think the cherry bomb doesn't drone as much b/c it's a muffler with packing in it, versus chambers like the flowmasters have. and i also think the magnaflows are mufflers with some type of packing in them...

It is very possible. Besides the packing, it is also free-flow.

Jason Burtman at www.burtmanindustries.com.
Or Google it the part number I THINK is 88103. It should have a 14" chamber.

i recently installed the Flowmaster 50 series, with the rest of the exhaust system stock, it sounds real good... not too loud, but a good low rpm sound. Also sounds very good under acceleration, and from the outside as well

Well the 89' runner I own has a custom 2" exhaust and a flowmaster on it.
Man that thing sounds like a beast. I freakin love it! No telling what it would be like on a V6!
