Key won't come out of ignition

Hey guys, got a weird problem.

Took the shifter apart in my 90/auto to replace the bushings at the base of the shifter to fix the handle flopping around. Got it all put back together and now the key won't come out of the ignition.

I can put it in to start it but it won't go back to the left all the way to come out. Like when you kill a car in Drive and you can't get the key out until you put it in Park. I can disconnnect the battery and it comes out fine.

I'm sure it's a sensor on the shifter that is not telling the computer its in Park all the way.

Can anybody tell me the sensor to look at or how to adjust it?

Sorry for the long post.

Wouldn't say that was long post, but the sensor is under the console cover at the top end....or where the shifter would rest at park. There is a little spring loaded mechanism that activates the switch when the shifter hits it. Hopefully, you haven't lost the spring. But, take a look at it and put it back together because obviously it's become disengaged. Just make sure it's working before you put everything back together.....only because it's kind of a pain to have to take apart again.
