i recently put a hole in my gas tank off roading... the skid plate happened to be in the bed of the truck.

the gas gauge never work since i bougth the truck and i just got a new gas tank.


what is it inside the gas tank that acutally measures the level?

is it in the fuel pump/sending unit assembly?

im probulbly gonna swap the tanks tomarrow so i figured i'd try to fix it at the same time....


and do i need to get any gaskets?
