torsion bar

Can anyone tell me how I know if the torsion bars have been adjusted by a previous owner? I'm looking into a suspension lift for my 86 22re pickup and want to know whether I need to uncrank them with new BJ spacers.

Thanks

Hmm, I am not sure with a first gen, I know with a second gen you can measure from the top of the rim to the fender and it should be about 14.5 to 15 inches. Not sure of the measurements for your 86 though. Maybe someone will chime in.

Well.. I did some searching on the forum.. and in a previous post two different people stated about 13 and 1/4 inch for a 1st gen.
