call your state testing centre and get them to recommend another shop. i had problems with mine, turned out the egr was non-functional. once that was changed, passed without issue.

good luck.

What, specifically (CO2, etc), is failing and what's the value, measured and max. allowed ?

Check your plugs and see what color they are. If they are black then you're truck is running rich.

My next suspected culprit would be water temp. sensor, not the sensor for the dash gauge. If it's busted your computer will always run rich like it's still in warm up mode.

the NO was high on mine and it turned out to be a combo of a plugged pcv valve and the timing being set out of wack (it had been tampered with by the shop where I went for testing [they were shut down I heard]) I'd get a different shop to check everything again if I were you...

before u go crazy, i would check the mass air flo censor, if it is the least bit dirty it would fail emission. i failed three times at that was the cause. simply cleaned with carb cleaner. good luck.

The 5w30 was running a little thin I had to add about a qrt. between changes I put in the 10w30 and it was'nt loosing as much... now that I'm running the Engine Restorer stuff at each change as well I might tyr the 5w30 again but this engine has 315K on it and the thicker oil might still be better... we'll see what happens...

The 3.0 doesn't have a MAF. If you're talking about the VAFM, what is there to clean, the swinging flap door?

Have you done a compression test to see if it is way high?

You must be burning oil. Either valves or rings.

do you warm it up (like a 15 mile day drive 1st)
and
you can add some alchohol to the fuel (or something ) to make it burn really clean. maybe the octane of fuel is too high or too poor quality.

either that, or put some holes in the top of the exhaust pipe
