Any ideas on how to locate standard piston ring set for 82 Diesel Pickup, 22R Diesel engine, 2188cc SOHC (Model LN40L)?

 

I believe the engine you are refering to is a 1L diesel engine. The R series engines were never diesel. I just checked www.napaonline.com and it says they have rings for a '82 Toyota L diesel.

 

Should be a 2L, not a 1L I believe?

I'd like to see pics of said "22R Diesel" I wish my truck came with that!

 

The earlier diesels were a 1L, the later diesels were 2L. There was also a turbo version, the 2LT. From what I have read, they are pretty slow. There is a more current overseas version that is suppose to be better. I think it is called the 2LTE, 2LIIE or something like that.
