how/what should i paint my sliders
put some sliders on yesterday and they needed to get painted. a friend suggested herculiner from napa which sounded good. i'd be nice to have a non slip surface. i'm sure there needs to be some sort of undercoating on them and the frame. what have you guys used?
here's some pics

If your really going to use them as sliders, then I would just paint them. If you use any kind of bedliner it will be hard to fix or blend later. Plus if you use bed liner it will make them not slide.

i'm not too familiar with herculiner but it sounds like a PITA to make look good on just the top. what i would do is get some grip tape-like material (some sand papery material they might use on boat decks or something) and put a strip on the top. Thats about as non-slip as it gets

The bumper paint is tough and would provide the same traction benefits almost as the gripping tape , it would be easy to touch up since its a orange peel finish and it comes in a matte black finish which would contrast nicely , not quite as dull as the primer flat finish , and using that paint if you just took some coarse grit emery cloth and roughed up tubing in the high traffic areas it would be very durable as well .

If you haven't done anything, look at my thread: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...l-poor-126819/ That's another option. It's the non slip and it looks pretty good. Too soon to see how it holds up, but it should be pretty tough. If you decide to Herculine it, buy it at Walmart. Much cheaper.

I always wanted to get sliders and bumpers....clean them up real nice so they are just shiny bare metal...and spray them with rustoleum clearcoat
I like to look of the metal and good welds. Plus I havent seen it done yet. Maybe it sjust me, but i think its a badass idea

napa didn't have herculiner but got the duplicolor equivalent along w/ the "bumper paint". i'll sand it down tomorrow during lunch and get some pics up asap. man those things came out a lot better than i was expecting. rear bumper goes on next weekend or the one after that. using 1 3/4 .120 dom. i'll make a thread for rear bumpers so post some pics there.
