there was someone here on yotatech that had a hilux surf(=3rd gen) with the spare tire carrier? does anyone have that picture saved on their computer or somewhere else?

about Rumbles: it says that he has an AT. How come he has the quick shift mod? Is there a quick shift mod for the a/t?

The quick shift for AT exists in Japan.
These are necessary parts in case of the body lift.

can i also have a pic of the hinges and the lock of the back door? does it open upwards? I want to see if the surf's back door and 4runner's back door are interchangeable! thanks!

 

The lock and hinges are the same as those of the 3rd gen 4Runner's. As can be seen from Elvota's post, the difference are the following:
-- lock for the spare tire carrier
-- wind deflector (standard on SSR-G and option on SSR-X Limited; all others have a different wind deflector)
-- location of the license plate (if rear tire carrier is not part of the package, the license plate location is the same as that of the 4Runner)

NOTE: For those equipped with a rear tire carrier, there is a frame/reinforcement inside the D-pillar.

 

Hey does anyone know where to get the chrome trim on the tails in post #7

 

for the chome tail light trim? would also double as a little protection for the tail lense. Any takers as to where to get these? Some of you non U.S. guys should know!

 

There must be a quick shift(short shifter) also in the United States.

Maybe that kit has been discontinued in Japan.

 

Also don't know where to get it. When i get to talk to the Nihon-jin that sold me the Hilux Surf, I'll ask him about it and I'll let you know. I'm pretty busy at the moment.

Talked to the PO today. he said the chrome liner was part of the options that he gave the dealer when he ordered the Hilux Surf. It's factory-installed.
