help, miss at idle,tuneup done

Just a newby here with my first Toyota truck,95 4runner 3.0 auto.
Has a miss at idle and before doing a compression check just wanted to ask if i can do something else, besides being told a have a burnt valve or broken spring?
Just put new plugs and wires in,she still has a dead sounding hole.#6 plug seemed wet, but it was hard to tell as they were very old.
any thoughts please ,
thanks
Dave

Motor Missing

Miss at idle could be a hundred things (well maybe not a hudred, quite)
Did you use aftermarket plugs , if so re-check the gap , .031 for the 3.0 and the aftermarket plugs I got were pre-gapped at .044 for that motor .
Check for Vacumn leaks , did you put a new cap and rotor on ........if not check them for carbon traces , TPS Maybe , test TPS and rule out , check timing and rule out .
Throttle Body clean ?
Just a few things to check for starters
Go here and access or download the FSM for your truck and the test specs for the motor and the various emission and PCV/Vapor Recovery controls :
http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/index.html
Here is a TPS walkthru that should apply to your 3.0 :

Although I did get my TPS from Pep Boys but it was the original part believe it or not , I took the old one and it was identical part and manufacturer (go figure) and yeah it was a bit cheaper but that is the only time I have had that happen

Was #6 plug white, and the rest gray/brown? If it was, you may have a bad head gasket

Can't help you there man , I would say outside of a diagnostic check of some sort that the plug color would tell the tale , many say and I have learned that most problems with injectors are that they are dirty and the "Seafoam" you can use in your gas and to clean Throttle Body/Intake works well (you can use in oil as well for gunk and stuck rings).
Outside of that I am not familiar with trouble shooting injectors , I will follow this thread and learn a few things maybe .

I would do a compression check on the motor then and find out after I was sure that there was good spark without any leakage (bad wire or plug , cap , rotor) or problems preventing that plug from firing .
The compression check will tell the story , either way look at the simple stuff first and rule them out .
