I've been trying to search the forum for info. I searched "aggressive all terrain" & "all terrain" w/no luck. So here's the post.

My rig is a DD so I don't want to ride on muds or swampers all day. I want something decent though for an A/T. What is an aggressive A/T that I can buy? I currently have some worn BFG A/T's and I like that tread, but what are some others I can look at?

Have you looked at the Bridgestone Dueler's? They have several different tread designs, and I have always liked them. I use Uniroyal for el-cheapo's, but the Duelers are excellent tires IMO

 

Kuhmo Road Venture A/T's are a GREAT on road tire, and have never dissapoitned off road either. They are a great little tire for an A/T.

I really like these, and the GF likes the Skulls and Cross bones, so....if reviews end up being any good, maybe try a set:

Those look cool, but are they any good? We are talking "agressive A/T" tires here.

 

I am seriously considering these for me. If you have a Big-O tire shop near where you live you should go down and check them out. I have always thought they were a good looking tire.

BFG A/Ts are pretty reliable, and known as one of the best A/T tires around. Why change when you know they work well?

A/T's don't get aggressive. If you want aggressive, you want a M/T or other type of non-a/t tire.

 

Pit Bull tires makes a fairly aggro A/T, but I still think the best bang for the buck is the BFG T/A KO's. They're pretty hard to beat. I love mine.

 

cooper s/t and s/t-c, i have a set of the s/t-c's and they are far better in the mud than the bfg a/t, but not as good in the snow

 

Does Maxxis make anything less aggressive than the Buckshot or Big Horn's?

 

Look up all terrain tires on tire rack. I just got Firestone Destination At's and pulled out a stuck Liberty off the beach in my Taco.

As everyone is saying its VERY hard to beat BFG A\T's. They are a tried and true tire.

On that note.

I have a set of kuhmo Road Venture AT KL-78's on my 4runner and they have been awesome. Never had any problems in slick mud, snow, or rain. They are a tad bit noisy, but are MUCH cheaper than most tires.

Nice. Those tires look cool... and apparently they're cheap! I know BFGs are tried and true, and I like that tread, but they are expensive. Don't wana spend $600 - $700 for tires right now. I wana see if I can get a similar tire for less. I like those duelers & the big-o's as well.. I mean as aggressive as you can get in a all terrain haha. I read some good stuff about the hercules tires. I can get those in a 31" for $104 each.

 

Look at the Cooper discoverer ST.........not the STT, thats the Mud terrain.

 

What I would call an "aggresive A/T" are the tires that are usually very successful on the rocks out here:

Cooper Discoverer STT


ProComp Xtreme MT

 

Then again, I still like my el-cheapo Uniroyal Liberators. $95 each, and road hazard warranty at any local Wal-Mart. Beat the hell out of them and get em fixed / replaced for next to nothing

That is for my DD tires when I get lazy and don't want to change rims / tires out for the weekend.

 

It's really hard to beat the bang for the buck I've gotten out of my Nittos especially for a DD and are comparable to BFGs off road but on road the Nittos are a better DD tire (especially in the rain) and cost me $200 less.
