Rear 3 link is done

Well, she's done and she stretches pretty good. I ended up using OME FJ 80 series front coils. Stock height, Heavy Duty rate. Shocks are OME Tacoma rear shocks with 2.5" lift. I ended up with about 5" of lift.
Now...who wants to buy me an axle for the front so I can get her completed!

She actually rides better than it did with the stock links and the 80 series stock coils. The HD OME coils work really well. I was worried she would sway bad, but it actually rides nice. Not bad roadsway at all. I kept the swaybar and those pics are with the stock swaybar attached. It doesn't seem like I'm going to have to remove it for wheeling

Yeah the stock sway bars don't limit your travel that much at all!!

I want to build up a 4 bar setup for the front of mine!!

actually, it looks like you're being held back a little in flex by those OME shocks. I'd try some 12" or 14" bilsteins, don't wanna be held back by shocks!

BTW, that's a 4 link

the panhard is considered a link still, iirc.

looks great Ace! I can't buy you an axle (my own rig is taking all my money) but maybe I'll run up there one weekend to help out if you do get to chopping. The offer is on the table. We can even shotgun a few beers for old times sake. Hopefully my new ride will be done this coming summer and maybe I can wheel again, imagine that...

clean work. looks great. the panhard is mounted very low - are you not concerned with such a low roll axis?

Oh my Lord! You're still alive?!! How are things going? Gimme a ring sometime. We're doing the traditional Toyota Christmas meet and greet/party at my place again this December.

Thanks for the comments fellas. I can't take the credit for the fab work though. My stock axle housing took a dump on me back in May, so I upgraded to a diamond axle (if something breaks, upgrade right?!). I was back and forth about saving money and going leafs vs. a custom 3link with panhard. Well, I went down to Ironpig Offroad and had a sitdown with Lance and Cam. Well...this is the outcome. I'm pretty please with it. I'm gonna try to get around work on Oct 12-13 and go to the run at Rausch Creek to test her out.
Now that the rear is complete I keep looking at the front in disappointment. lol. Unfortunately that thing called money is hindering progress. LOL

I can see from the pics that your 4Runner needs a new owner, because of safety. You can't continue to drive it,you should sell it to someone for really cheap and quick, and me being the nice guy I am,I can take it off your hands.
haha... Looks sweet, keep up the good work.

Yeah, you're right. I'll do a 4 month lease to you for 1500 a month until hunting season ends in January. That should give me enough to do the front at the end of winter
DEAL!!

Thanks!
Yep. 3-link is the plan for the front. Whether it be a year or two down the road. I've been trying to decide whether to just get the whole all-pro kit or get a built diamond axle and have Ironpig fab up the rest. Either way I think it will cost about the same...My left arm, a few vital organs and my first born.

Things are good man. Spending too much money on the new rig. I had almost forgotten how expensive this sport is, unfortunately I didn't forget how much I love it and love building new rigs. I'll give you a call this coming week. Maybe I'll shoot you some pics of the new rig if I can get off my rear and grab my camaera to actually take pictures while I am working...

That's right. That's Eric's birthday weekend isn't it? I'll see what I can do.

ok, so I'm thinking bout ditching my 63" chevy's and going to a 3 link Rear on 92 SAS runner.
Here's the deal. I'm thinking I can use the hanger mounts I have for the leaves, and just connect the trailing arms to those, fab up some brackets on the axle and there's my lower links. Now the upper......... the 4runner still has the factory top control arm mounts. So...I'm going to attempt to reuse those in a fashion such as this....see link below. Does anyone see any issues with that? and/or do I need to still run a panhard?
http://www.quadratec.com/products/16064_500.htm
Any input would be appreciated. This is my first stab at links..........been a leaf guy my entire wheeling life.
