3.4L donor vehicle

what would be good price to pay for a totaled truck?

supposing engine is still good that is.....

and how much could i expect to pay to get it swapped?

depends on how bad the entire truck really is. year make model aslo matters. I would say between 1000 if real lucky to about 3000 maybe more again depending

That sounds low to me. I'd say its more like $4000-$9000 unless it is really in bad shape. I sold this 2001 donor truck after I took out the engine, tranny, all bolt on accessories, cruise control, exhaust system and drive shafts for $3500 but it all depends on the condition too.
