Well, I finally got around to installing the 7.1 I bought from Steve at Sonoran Steel few weeks back. While I was in Tempe I had Steve weld on my Stubbs sliders. Both Steve of SS and Richard of Stubbs Welding are awesome guys to deal with and I highly recommend both of them as well as their products. So, in the past month I have taken my 2000 from bone stock w/ running boards to 265/75 BFGs, Stubbs SKO sliders, and the 7.1 OEM/SS lift. I LOVE it! Here are some before and after pics (will post a better set of afters after I take some more on a trail or a wash.

Unfortunately I forgot to accurately measure the fender height before, but a previous rough measurement put each fneder at ~34.5". Now the rear sits at 38" and the front at 37.25". It is definitely tougher to get into w/o the boards and the lift but I like it (wifey may not). Thanks to Steve for answering my ongoing questions and paddlenbike for dispensing some advice, and guapo83 for helping me unload my running boards on eBay.

Looks good man...how do you like the fit/look of the 265/75s with the lift? Its kinda hard to tell from that picture

 

I really like the 265s. I don't think they look too small at all, but some might. I didn't want to have any rubbing issues whatsoever or risk losing any power or mpg. I had a vehicle w/ rubbing issues before and it drove me crazy.

 

Yea i had a jeep before with 33s and it rubbed, i hated it. So i think the 265s sound good. Thats my plan and i dont even think ill have as much lift as you..

 

the 265s fit w/ no lift and didn't rub IN TOWN at all. Not sure if they would offroad. The guys at Discount Tire acted surprised they fit w/o issue

 

Yea im gonna have like a 2"-2.5" just something small that will look good.

Haha i used to work at discount tire, well its called americas tire out here, but thats funny because they are always like that. They like go off the factory size which is like a 225 or something haha

I hope to be getting a set of 265/75s very soon myself.

 

I was a vulture on craigslist for months before finding a good set of 265 75 ATs. I managed to score the BFGs for $225 from a guy who had them on his full size pickup. He had just bought them, decided to lift, and then thought they looked too small. They had less than 5k on them. IMO the 265s are fine for what i intend to do offroad. 33s might look cooler but would not be as practical for me in the near term.

Looks GREAT! Your truck is a near carbon-copy of mine with the same lift, tires, sliders and factory option packages, so obviously I like what you have done!

Ken, how do you get the large pic to show up on these forums? The camera is a Canon powershot A620 (point and shoot, 7.1 MP). The original size was huge so i just posted the resized, smaller version on imageshack. Ken, obviously I love your 4Runner as well!

 

Did you sell the running boards yet? I'm just curious because he said he got $350 for them on Ebay. What did yours go for?
