Tundra vs OME 882
Anyone delt with both? I've thought of converting from Tundras to 882's because 882's give about .75" more lift and the Tundra's ride like hell. I'm not sure if a spring could ride worse. Anything helps

Through my research, the OME stuff sags like crazy after a while unless you get some really tall springs from the begining thus netting a taller lift but not as tall as when new. The Tundras are not supposed to sag at all. The OME 883s are gaining popularity (not sure how they ride) because they are a taller lift than the Tunrda springs netting about 3" with no top out that I am aware of.
I have a set of Non-TRD Double Cab Tundra coils and struts that are about to go in this weekend (with any luck). I have a suspicion that they will ride better than the TRD springs and net the same height. I'll post a thread, pics and numbers when completed.

Here's the secret...Suspension ride is very subjective. Every rig feels different, due to all sorts of differences like alignment, bumpers, winch, tire size and load rating, wheel width, etc. Find a suspension that works for you. IMO it's silly to compare ride, I say 882's suck you say Tundra's suck...we wouldn't get anywhere.
Unfortunately, when 3rd gens were newer we tried many, many different combinations over the years. Example:882's, 881's, PP's, DS Spacers, FabTech, Topouts, Tundras, 2wd Tundras, LC shocks, Bilsteins (2 types), I've tried them all...
With that said...the Sonoran Steel lift I have now is by far the best solution on the market IMHO (for me).
Unfortunately, when 3rd gens were newer we tried many, many different combinations over the years. Example:882's, 881's, PP's, DS Spacers, FabTech, Topouts, Tundras, 2wd Tundras, LC shocks, Bilsteins (2 types), I've tried them all...
With that said...the Sonoran Steel lift I have now is by far the best solution on the market IMHO (for me).

many of us (I believe) settle for Old Man Emu lift combinations of springs and shocks but Steve of Sonoran Steel has run them all and sure seems to know what he is talking about. Nice to have a real authority on the 3rd gens amongst the other talents they have over there.
I encourage everyone even thinking of a lift to read the Sonoran Steel FAQ section. It answered and encouraged a lot more of my questions.

i have the 883's with a top out and it rides pretty amazing and they have 4,000 miles on them and not sagging... o and that gave me like 3.25in of lift in the front. i had the shorter lc springs for a while and the ome 890's with a 1.5in coil spacer and both were too short. so now i have the longer lc springs from a 91 and its at perfect ride height.

I've put Old Man Emu springs on two of my trucks, (a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder and a Suzuki Sidekick) and have never experienced any sagging. Not saying these springs are right for you however.

risky. lol its workin great for me. and the two others that have ventured into the ome 883's on our 4runners. and none of the fins touch but they are really really close. and no leaking grease yet and not torn boots or broken cv's. i had the 881's before these and they caused me to tear boots like no other for some reason and i'm wheelin harder now... i got really good at changin them after the 881's.
