Where can I speak to a Toyota mechanic?
#1
Does anyone know how I could talk to some different certified Toyota mechanics?
I've got a few questions and it seems to be too much trouble to go to the dealership and try to get them to let me ask a mechanic. I know that there is a few around here but I don't know who they are. Is there possibly a website out there run by someone that works at a dealership? I just need to get a few more opinions so I can figure out my problems.
Also, do you guys think that if I called the dealership they would let me talk to a mechanic? The sevice guys just aren't quite doing the job.
Thanks for the help.

You should try calling some dealerships. I called around after my carb install went south, and the guy at the front put me through to their garage and let me talk to a mechanic. He told me a couple things to look for, and was surprisingly nice for not getting any cash out of the call.

SOmething you have to remember, working on cars/trucks is how we make our living. If I had to talk to people who just wanted to ask questions all day long, I could not earn my keep, pay the bills, eat food, bla bla... I know its frustrating from your standpoint, but you have to look at it both ways..
Thats one great thing about the web/ and bbs's like this and many others, the exchange of info, and I bet what you look for is out there....

Trust me, if I could make the dealership responsible I would. The reality of it is that since I did something after the work that was done, they won't take any sort of responsiblity for it. I'm also pretty sure that since my truck doesn't run real bad, they will just say it is normal. As you can see I don't trust the dealership very much.
"Screw me once—shame on you, screw me twice—shame on me"
I just don't want to get screwed again and be out of more money when they didn't even fix the problem.
Thanks for the help.
