Question Looking for Split Bench

Hey guys,

I have a 87 P/U and am looking for a 60/40 split bench to put in if anyone has one. Anyone know if the split bench came as an option for a 2WD extra cab? How do the seat belts work with the bench?

Thanks!

Oh yeah, I'm located in Ontario, Canada

Alright, well would anyone want to trade for my buckets and center console? If yours is in better shape then I'll put some money/beer towards it.

From what I've read in older threads you seem to be right. Its just that it's hard to get close to a 'lady friend' with a set of buckets. I'd assume its a little easier with a bench

it is much easier with a bench. the only downfall is a lot of 'lady friends' dont feel comfortable riding in a car with such high miles... so it kinda sucks.. kinda makes you want to spin back 100,000 miles huh? ha

My king size bed works best with my lady friend regardless of how miles I have on my truck.

To answer your question on the seat belts, the driver side clasp has another clasp integrated with it. It costs about $80 at the dealer and now they only come in gray...ask me how I know. There is also a belt that comes out between the two seats. The 60/40 although is a killer on long trips is great around town. My little sons with their short legs fit up front just fine.

The split bench essentially makes the truck a five passenger vehicle (if three of them are less that 4'-6" tall.)

i dont think that 1987 trucks had a 60/40 bench.

1987 trucks ive seen have either regular buckets,sr5 buckets, plain vinyl bench, or a seat that is a bench on the bottom and has seperate folding backrests and armrest.

i wouldnt count on a 60/40 form a 89to 94 to fit

"...or a seat that is a bench on the bottom and has seperate folding backrests and armrest."

I'd settle for that too. If anyone close by has either of these I'd really appreciate it! I've been looking through quite a few junkyards and the closest I could find was a 90's P/U with a column shift auto, which means that the centre section of the seat would interfere with my shifter
