3VZE engine whine noise!

i was wondering if i would be able to get some helpful tips and advice on a problem i have. Ive got a 1991 pickup SR5 3VZE 3.0 motor. like a week and a half ago i began hearing this strange "whine" noise when i rev my motor. i checked my belts and im believe its not my alternator because the noise sounds internal. after listening somewhat to its location, it sounds as if its coming from the right side internals when it idles and then it makes a high pitch sound when i rev it.

any possible problems? helpful tips?

thankyou

You can try the process of elimination by removing one belt at a time. There are numerous idler pulleys, water pump, alternator, etc.. that can whine. Power steering pumps are notorous for whinning.

Not much internally that can whine.

I would personally start with a really long screwdriver and carefully put tip at various places of interest to try and narrow down the area.

yea i agree. Especially about the power steering pump. it will def make a winning sound but not so much more when you rev your engine. but like he said check the belts and water pump
