new muffler not loud enough

ok guys, so i put on my new cherry bomb vortex on Saturday and i'm finding that its not loud enough for my tastes. it still has the stock tail pipe location as well as the rest of the pipes. i really like the tone but i want more volume!

question: what can i do to make my sound more noticeable?

take out your catalytic converter..... if you want noise just cut the muffler off.. then you'll be loud as hell...

i was thinking i might just chop off all the pipe after the muffler and tack a turn down right after. i guess that might be illegal so i might just cut all the pipes after the axle and tip it off there. I want my big red dog to growl like one!

ask anyone who has done it dont let your exhaust empty under your truck. It sounds like a jet airplane inside and its not that loud outside the truck. Its louder then hell inside for some reason though.

i have a downturn under the truck and have no loud noises from it whatsoever. the only bad thing about it is that i cannot have my back window open going down the road or ill get sick from the exhaust. If you have that little spoiler/wing above the window you shouldnt have a problem. Mine did get a little ballsier tone too when i did it. I say go for it.

i think i'm going to go ahead and chop it off right after the muffler, and if its too stinky or anything, I'll just put a short pipe out after the axle. i also heard the down pipes resonate off the pavement, kind of like driving in a tunnel but all the time, is that true?

If you wanted volume you should have gone with a Flowmaster 40 series or a 14" Magnaflow...

Yeah, or a V8.

Personally I like the sound of a hardworking little Toyota engine, kind of more like a tractor than a muscle car.

after much debate, i decided to chop the muffler right after the axle so the exit is right next to the spare. i'm going to buy a longer 4" tip today and put on so the exit is larger and more towards the rear. i drove about 20 miles last night just messing around listening to the muffler, and i realized... its only day 2 and the damn thing still needs to break in. i also watched this video about 10. times http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OvnDnRM-F0

within the next week I'll be purring pretty loud i figure. if not, I'll save up later and get something else...
