getting new alt, what else?

so im off at college right now and right before i left the alternator went tits up on my truck, which i had to leave home, now my stepdad has ordered a 120 amp off of mralternator.com and i need to know is there anything else that he HAS to do to make it work besides installing it? his truck is currently in the shop and he has been driving mine but this needs to be fixed.

i know bigger wires need to be put in but will he be able to survive with just the stock size for now? and are there any other things that need to be addressed like fuses or anything? i dont have access to my truck at all and my stepdad isnt the best mechanic so i would like to keep it as simple as possible for him, so i want to keep it to a bare minimum to get him around if possible.

IMHO - biggie wires are a must with a biggie alternator

potential for wire fire if not upgraded...

bigger wires are on the to do list, but is there anything else i need to know about to make it work? are there any fuses/fusable links that need changing/upgrading or is it just the wires i need to worry about?

I'm running a 135 amp off my stock wiring right now; planning to upgrade the big three with a fuseable link on the direct-to-battery 4 gauge upgrade.
