Bah, I could get my 82 with 33's, 6" suspension, and a 22R up to 95mph on I-40. Took me 15 minutes or so, but I could get it there...
I was actually doing 85 once, right outside of Barstow, when I had a tire separate on me. The whole tread just peeled off and slammed into the rear quarter panel...that'll pucker your navel!

max i ever got to was about 85 going downhill in my 89 runner 22re automatic with 30"tires. It was going faster VERY slowly so i just gave up, plus it was kinda freaky as there was some vibrations i wasnt used to.

I top @ 85mph straight n level, 5th gear pinned. Very fuel efficient, NOT. LOL
31" mud rovers, 4.10's... 22r. With the 30" marshalls before i got it up to 92mph, had some room to gain but i didnt feel safe on those tires or those shocks... =p
Bottom line, these trucks are slow
and... I never use 5th gear. I cruise 70mph in 4th... I've found this gives the best highway gas mileage and the rpms are up enough to give me SOME power left. LOL... very lil tho =p

I did a trip to Portland from Olympia WA ... used 3/4 of tank getting there maintaining 80mph 5th gear, pinned just to maintain... filled up in portland, decided to cruise 4th gear 65mph (plus the added weight of the stuff i picked up in portland) .. barely budged past a qtr tank of fuel on the way back and it wasnt a windy night.
fYI...
.... found my truck gets 20.5mpg highway using this 4th gear 65-70mph... Did a trip to bellingham from olympia and back. 330 miles roundtrip, roughly ~16 gals of fuel used... I filled before the trip and when i got back to do it... was interesting. =p ... 330 miles is pretty much the distance this truck can travel one one tank since i have a ~17gal tank if you fill the neck =p

Not to rain on anyones parade or info, but how accurate are the numbers being posted.
Are they taken from a GPS unit, timed 1 mile run, radar/ laser or off the vehicles speedo. Speedo's are notorious for being inaccurate.
