My official FAREWELL YOTATECH FRIENDS thread...rig is sold (LOTS O' PICS)

This is a little belated, but better late than never. I just wanted to thank everyone for their valuable input and help along the way - you guys (and gals) are a great group of people and I'm sad to be going. Thanks for putting up with my numerous picture-intensive posts and multiple trip reports on Box Canyon and Broken Arrow! LOL! After much thought and deliberation, I had decided to sell my rig and ditch the car loan and poor gas mileage for a "beater" I could pay cash for. After an extensive search, we found a great little car: a '93 Civic Si hatchback with only 120K miles. I bought it from the original owner for $3000 cash and I've never been happier with a vehicle! Tinkering with these cars has been a favorite pasttime, and I'm glad to have one in my possession again. So as a parting gift, here's a picture tribute to me and my family, focusing on some of the great places my 3rd gen 4Runner took us...and then a few shots of the rig, and then finally my newfound ride. THANKS EVERYONE!

The new ride...

I drive a beater to work every day too, a 1996 Saturn because driving the 15MPG 4Runner just didn't make sense. I use the 4Runner for hauling my bicycles around and that's about it. That's probably why it's 7 years old with 50k miles. I know what you mean by dumping it if you have to make payments though, I hate car payments. Good luck with the Honda.....

Sucks to hear about the 4Runner...but nice "beater" though. I'd like to pick up one of those for a 2nd car.

I drove a 2dr '98 civic EX for 3yrs. Was so glad to dump it for a 4Runner. IMO, it was too small for an everyday car.

Gave up on my '91 not too long ago-- bought a 95 Corolla (27-30mpg), but I still have our '97 to tinker with as I get the $$.

Yeah, I'm sure I will be. Thanks, I like the Civic too. Sure beats the '94 Civic CX I had about 10 years ago. That thing had a 1.5L 8V with 70 HP...

It's rated at 27 to 35 MPG - the previous owner even had the original window sticker and a new HONDA car brochure from 1993 - talk about collector's items for the HONDA afficianado (read: ME!) Even getting on it several times a week and winding it up to 7200 RPM, I'm getting around 30 MPG.

Thanks. Yeah, I love the EG chassis. Too bad it's such a hot item for thieves - I worry about that. But I only drive this thing to and from work and we've got a pretty good group of security guys and cameras spread throughout the lot. Right now my only deterrents are a detatchable face plate for the CD player and a CLUB... I would like to look into a kill switch.

Yep, some pictures taken on the rim, near Woods Canyon Lake and Bear Canyon Lake. Also, the other pics of the family include places like Ventura, CA, Legoland in Carlsbad, CA, and Newport Beach, CA.
