92 pickup 4x4 wheel hub?
I just purchased a 92 pickup. 4x4 with 4" Pro comp suspension lift. High miles but looks great and runs good. Had it about two weeks and noticed a tear in a CV boot. Having never noticed it before, I got suspicious that my cv axles are spinning with the front wheels. Thought I had self locking hubs underneath the pretty chrome center caps, but what I founds raises more questions. It's definitely not a manual hub but it looks nothing like I've seen before in the self locking department, and I verified that both axles spin with the wheels when jacked up. Is this normal with whatever type hub that I have. Just doesn't seem right to me? Please help with some info on these hubs. Sorry if too long, first post.

If the truck is stock and does not have manual hubs it is equipped with ADD.
The "hubs" you are looking at are just a locked flange with a little gold cap on the center bolt. It is pretty much like having a manual hub but locked all the time.
If you can get a set of Aisin manual hubs from a 86-95 toyota they are a direct swap.
I did the same swap because I wanted to save wear on my truck (and I got he hubs for free)
Search aisin manual hub swap.

Well I can't help there but some people swear they pick up an extra 1-2mpg after swapping.
I noticed a very small increase but I was really more interested in saving my cv joints.
