vacuum line markings

vacuum line markings
does anyone know what the designations mean on the small (~4mm inside diameter) rubber vacuum lines under the hood?
they're labeled as:
#*
#1
#2
#3
#4
#5
all the same size.
do they refer to or support different systems? e.g. egr, efi, etc.

also looking for a good replacement source for all the vacuum lines. i'm finishing up a reman engine job and am close to the finish line. these vacuum lines look to be in pretty good shape when you consider they're 16 yrs old.
