What would you pay????

I was talking to a coworker yesterday and the said he has an 85 or 86 4runner for sale, sold front axle.
It has a 4inch likt and a 2inch body lift running 31 inch mud tires.
From what he says the truck is clean(which im sure it is).

I havent had an opprotunity to go look at it yet, so i dont have any pictures.
They are selling it for around $3500

6 inches of lift and 31's? Plan on buying new tires that thing has to look like roller skates. Check on the frame and body for rust. 3500 seems a little high unless he has taken really good care of it and there are a few goodies on it.

Not sure exactly what that's worth but for that much I would require functional 4wd, and everything to be in good running condition. I see 1st gens like that for under $2K around here, but they're usually heaps. $3500 sounds kinda high but if it's in real good shape it sounds resonable.

Edit- ha gilby beat me to it.

I will be checking, however in the area i live in rust is not an issue. Ive yet to see a car with rust issues around here.

There is a 2nd gen pickup down the street from me with a similar setup and it looks sweeeet.

the tres on the 4runner are also brand new.

New tires- easy to sell if they're too small. Always check frame and body for rust and damage- I see transplanted cars from back east here and there, plus beach city cars rust over time.

if its a clean 85 and its for 3500 that is a steal around here. i dont know what you guys are looking at but a clean first gen starts at around 4000 around here and a 85 with a straight axle will go for even more

if it is a true 85, and its a true Cali truck, $3500 is a great price, given taht it runs like a gem. I wish I could find a mint 85 here with no rust but even in WA, they are scarce (and we dont even salt the roads!!)
