SoCal Hungry Valley Trail Ride Sat. June 28th

Hello all;

First time setting up a trail ride/meet, so please bare with me.

Where? Hungry Valley
Location? Gorman. Off of the 5 up the Grapevine.

http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=1201

Trying to get as many people involved as possible.
Hungry Valley is about 2 hours north of L.A.
They have many trails to offer in 3 different skill levels.

Also available is an off-road obstacle course set up with rock crawls, mud holes, off camber crawls, and hill climbs.

This is a good opportunity to meet some members and have a good time.

I figure we can all put our heads together and come up with a meeting place and time.

Thanks,
Serge

Count me in!!!

I'll be heading from LA/OC area (60/57 junction).

We can meet up at after 8am the earliest as I figure it'll take me about 1.5 hrs to get there.

Always be prepared and bring food/water. You never know what you may encounter so a days worth of stuff to eat should suffice If you have MRE's those will be nice for emergency stuff!

Lots of water and a lunch sack should do it!

I have 1 tundra going already, looks like 8am or 9am meet time (everyone okay?)

9 A.M. sounds good.

A sack lunch and a cooler full of liquid should be fine.
If we use the back way (which is shorter) there is a great hot dog stand there for the way out. Gorman also has all kinds of eats.

So far we have:

Good Times
Magil
TMS2U

The tundra guys name is TMS2U!

I've told him that the meet time is 9am.

We should figure out where to meet! Somewhere off the 5 freeway at a McD's or BK or Jack in da crack or somewhere it's easier this way.

I'm not familiar w/ that area besides driving thru to SF/SJ so someone find a place to meet up!

If Magil will be coming from Ventura he will be taking the 126.

Soooooo, let's meet up @ Sac Donalds in Castaic. From there it's only about 30 minutes to the exit.

I am actually on the intersection of 118 and 23. Do you think I should I take 23 up to 126? Or is it faster to take 118 to the 5?

Where are you at? Moorpark?
I work in Westlake.

It would be easier to take the 118 to the 405 North. Than you will automatically connect to the 5.

I live right off of the 118 and Topanga. So if you wanted to hook up somewhere along the 118 we can do that.

okay guys, where's that? lol I'm still new rem? hehe

I saw the post on tundrasolutions.com (i posted something for this trip) and got a reply from TMS2U. He's been there b4 so that's a good thing.

Now is this place we're meeting up off the 5 freeway or somewhere else?

It would be nice if we all meet up before we get into the trails itself so people can first gather and then head out!

Lance,

Magil and I will meet up together first, since he lives close to me.
Then we will roll out to Castaic to meet everyone else. Castaic is right off the 5 just past Majic Mountain. You'll see the McDonalds as soon as you get off the freeway. From there it's about 30-40 minutes to the exit for Hungry Valley. We will go in the back way off of Smokey Bear Road.

I meant that the Castaic exit is a little past Majic Mountain. But we can meet up at the In and Out parking lot right off of Majic Mountain Pkwy. That is fine. Whatever you are familiar with.

Get off at Majic Mountain Pkwy. Make a left. Go the the next light make a right. It will be on the right hand side.

From Majic Mountain it shoud take us about 40 minutes.

We'll exchange numbers before the trip.
