i need a good tire for WINTER and offroad,but WINTER is the first target here,
witch of theses two i should get,;heres what i care about:


i dont care about noise,at ALL
i need some good winter tire that grips ,
i need a tire that dont wear too fast.
and a tire that does well on dirt,regular track,and mud.

 

Don't get the baja claws if you are worried about wear.

 

ok but what about the BAJA CLAWS do they handle great in SNOW,?

 

NEITHER of those is going to do well in packed snow. As a matter of fact, they will be downright scary.

If you want something decent in snow, look for something with some siping. I would recommend the Trxus M/T

 

I've seen Baja Claws do alright in the snow, not great but better than I thought they might. I like something more AT than that myself. With smaller voids between the lugs, not so chunky. Trxus M/Ts would have the characteristics I look for definetly. I really love the tires I have on the front(had 4, 2 blewout)of my rig for snow, but I won't recommend them for ANYTHING else off-road. I hate them, so much I ain't gonna mention the name, damn good in the snow though, never got stuck once. Ahh what the hell...Wild Country TXR, but you didn't hear it from me.

I'd guess the goodyears for snow, but who knows.

 

Why not the Baja MTZ, I just picked up a set. The minor siping in them should help for what it's worth in the snow/ice

 

I run MTR's on my '91 and they have worked well for me in the snow. I wouldn't have expected it as they have no siping but I rarely need to use 4wd in the wintertime up here.

 

trying the side hill or anything else off camber will be down right scary with baja claws. going straight though snow with bc's might be okay but dont plan on turning or goign on hardpack. Mtr's are ok in snow but there are better choices liek mentioned above.

 

i meen i dont do alot of highway and stuff ,it would be more for like rocky trails,and MOSTLY for snow,but i need agressive thread,i ad two pairs of BFG's
all terrain,they do very well but they dont do great in mud and deap snow.

 

I had a set of siped 33x12.5 MTR's and they actually did pretty well in the snow. However I bought them already siped, so can't really compare to non-siped ones.

Lots of guys around here run the Trxus M/T's, and they do very well.

 

do you recommend siping the brand new tires?
will it make a better diff in snow and ice

 

wild country rvt's and the BFG M/T's work very well In the noth western snow. Im selling my 33 rvt's to a local for some 35 BFG's.

 

Siping will definately help. I agree that an all terrain type tire is probably better in the snow even though I love my MTR's

 

neither. get a separate set of snows if your main concern is snow traction. then get a set for when the snows gone. those should be the MT/R's...
