bout an 83 toyota that doesn't run. has 11'' lift with 35s. needs carb and should run. Gonne build the axles with lower gears, stronger axle shafts, locker and spool, and different tires. Not sure about motor. Me and my buddy building it are still in high school so this is are 1st project!!

An easy way to fix the carb is to order a reman'd one. I went with National Carburetors. It needed adjusting when I got it but for $200 I was happy to avoid the rebuild.

If you want to know how to avoid all the stupid mistakes just see my rebuild

sounds like you are spending a lot of money in a small amount of time. just to let you know, if you go with 4.88 gears and have them heat treated by bobby long then go with a dual t-case setup from sky's off road and gear the second t-case you would be much better off, the higher gear ratio in the rear end will be much stronger because it allows for larger pinion. and don't forget longfields, if not kiss them birfs goodbye with them big tires.

Be sure to fix that rear brake line. it looks like as soon as you stuff the left rear and that right rear gets some droop the brake line is gonna pull itself out. Almost fully extended as it sits.

My suggestion is before you start spending money on any mods get it running and moving first or you'll run out of money fast. Just buy the necessary pieces to make it run and drive then go from there.

I am not really digging the red frame, rear lift blocks with welded supports?, the body lift, or the roll bar. "Could" be a nice rig if a LOT of work is put into it.

i had the boy to send me pics of it before i even wasted my time going and looking at it and i noticed the blocks in the rear and i thought that was all the lift was in the rear because the look huge in the pic but i reasure yall they aren't quite that big. i haven't ever measured them but i'd say 3'' block 4at most i aint sure wats the deal with that plate running down there making it look like huge blocks. As for what we paid.....$800 cough cough! really we've been paying him off in payments. We gave him $225 and he handed us the keys and said come get it and then we've been givin him acouple hundred every 2weeks but he's hard to get ahold of and he owes us a rebuild kit, the bill of sale, and the title but we haven't seen any of it. We owe $275, i believe, and i've considered just not finish paying him but that would be wrong and i aint that kinda guy.

For a highschool project, thats one EXPENSIVE hobby to pick up.

You can rebuild that carb for like $40 with a kit from a parts store. I've rebuilt two 22r carbs so far. It's not THAT difficult just time consuming and the screws that hold the three bodies together can be a pain to get off (especially the flat heads on the bottom body)

Those rear blocks dont even look like blocks, looks like they just welded a few plates of steel to the axle and bolted the springs ontop ???

blocks + bodylift = COOL! hahaha ..... ugh

goodluck!
