Curious - Why are cam pulleys reversed??

Hey everyone,

Got the crank pulley off & cam pulleys. Will finish removing the cross-over, intake, then heads. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE VALUABLE HELP!!

A couple of observations I have questions about.

1. Why is the lip around the passenger cam pulley reversed from the left? Is this so the belt won't "walk"?

2. How do I clean the 6 injectors? they look pretty good and I would like to clean them. One plae here in town wants $20 each. I have a digital VOM to check resistance.

Thanks again for the ideas and help.

Respectfully,

DJ

I don't know the reason the the reversed pulleys but I would think it's probably like you thought, so the belt doesn't come off.

As for the injectors they're usually cleaned in an ultrasonic bath, so unless you have one of those I don't think you could properly clean them yourself. This place does cleaning and flow testing for $17 each
