broken close button on 92 4runner NEED HELP ASAP!

so i get home from the lake today and go to close my sunroof as usual, to no avail. the little button you have to press before you hold the close button is loose in its spot, meaning it won't let me hit the close button. so now toyota's stupid not close sunroof feature is leaving my truck wide open to the elements and criminals... terrific! my question is, how do i take the thing apart? i opened the little license holder and theres a really big flathead screw there, but i can't budge the thing. i'm not even sure if thats the correct screw to loosen. argh, anyone know what i can do???

I had the same problem on mine. The button just releases a latch so the switch will go into the off position. If you pull the switch cover off, you can remove the latch. Then the switch will operate without the safety close button.
