I got rear-ended! my poor baby!
So I was driving home on the highway last night in traffic... minding my own business when there was a loud crunch and a lurch... "☺☺☺☺!" I said as I pulled on to the shoulder... I got out to survey the damage... whole right rear quarter and box side destroyed... vehicle still driveable... cop made me have it towed to the reporting centre... [another story]
car that hit me was a civic sedan driven by a [person from the indian sub-continent]... who admitted to me rigth away it was his fault he had worked a night shift [this was at 5pm] and had'nt been to sleep yet... he'd dosed of behind the wheel!... a#@ h*^e ...
still waiting to hear from insurance adjuster...
hope they don't try to write it off checked autotrader today and the cost of a replacement vehicle of similar age is between 7000 and 10000 nationally.

OUCH!
I know where you drive, so I understand the road hazards. Kinda like driving in Markham, during morning rush hour.
Sounds like you may be off to the wreckers. Grab that TBody imtake pipe for me, will ya?

Thanks for all the kind words guys...
no pics yet but I will get them...
frame is ok... [i think...hope]
I do have a hitch but the sob missed it... came at me right on the corner...
had he hit square at the back there would have been no damage to me at all...
I had the stock chrome bumper but it was rusted and was going to be replaced...any way he caught the right corner and the whole thing crumpled... the best? thing is he most likely wrote his car off in the process...
and I still have'nt heard from the insurance company to arrainge an appointment for the adjuster to view it... bastards...
at least it is now in the care of my mechanic...
you want to hear what the vulture stung me [insurance] for the tow?
sit down...
$833.00 for tow to reporting centre, tow to pound, and 2 days storage.
He had the thing for less the 24hrs! where does 2 days storage come from?!
yeah he took it on the 1st and I had it moved on the 2nd but still...
he also probably dinged 2 hook up charges...
he wanted $88.00 and $3.50/km to tow it to my guy...
All because the cop who attended the scene would not let me drive it away...
oh yeah bugger was also to lasy to write up report at scene and made us go to reporting centre....
oh well could be worse... at least I'm not paying for the tow...
more updates as they come in...

Accidents are the worse in the world. I remember when I bought my '99 Tacoma I was driving home only 2 hours after buying it and was run off the road by some old person that decided he really wanted to cross the highway in front of me. The only good outcome was some upgraded parts that I didn't have to pay for because I'm in good with the fix it people.
Keep us up to date and add some pictures.

At least you got a cop to show up. When this guy sideswiped my Subaru(over 5000 in damages), he refused to report it to his insurance and they refused to do anything until he did. I had my insurance company pay for it(I had uninsured coverage) and then had threaten lawsuits about 2-3 months after the accident. They did cover my costs once I had my lawyer call them. Oh I called the cops they said unless we were hurt and close to death they wouldn't show up. I went to report it and of course they said I should have had a cop show up. I hate how ☺☺☺☺s done here. Anyway keep on his insurance company.
