Cut out the crossover on the 3.0?

Hi,

Has anyone out there tried to get rid of the exhaust crossover on the 3.0?

I am planning to take out my crossover and just run exhaust on both sides, I am thinking that it will cut down on engine heating and will allow better air flow. My only concern is that it will cause an O2 sensor issue.

Just curious if anyone has come up with a creative solution to this problem.

Thanks,

Jon

I have not done that but would like to do so someday. Just make sure the two pipes come back together before the O2 sensor and you should be fine.

I was considering putting the o2 sensor just ahead of the cat about midway back in the exhaust, but I am concerned that the added wire length will add resistance to the circuit and will change the readins the o2 sensor is giving out...but I dunno.

Well, moving it back could cause slight latency but I have a hard time seeing affect drive-ability. I *think* the sensor is heated so that shouldn't be a problem. As long as all the exhaust passes by it though, it will read accordingly.

Not if you split so only one bank ran by it, that would like cause some problems, you might run too rich which clogs cats and hurts MPG.
