What's the sizing? Are you running stock gears?

 

32X11.50. And yes it's stock gearing. Will probably regear in the near future. I just do not know what gear is in it now, or what to regear too.

 

Can you take a picture of the front of your trucks grill and bumper for me please? I want to see what mine would look like black. I'm looking into one of the bumpers you have also for aux. lights. I would greatly appreciate it, thanks in advance.

Have you not lost any power going with that size? Had them long enough to gauge your mileage?

I'm not educated enough on the subject to tell you what to switch to, but IIRC they are 4:10 gears. I could be wrong, though.

I remember reading those tires had very good ratings on reviews. Would you mind posting how they perform?

if you have a manual they're probably 4.10's. Ive got the same size tire in bfg at's and i like em, and its still drivable. Do you have any lift in the front, and is there any rubbing? I ended up having to crank the t-bars with mine to kill the rubbing on all but extremely hard turns.

 

Drivable?...lol. Does this mean "it could be better"? Did you lose any appreciable power? Mileage?

With the exhaust, intake mod, and recent Seafoam treatment no loss of power.
I haven't had them long enough to get mileage.
I had a set of 30X9.50 on before and got about 50,000 miles mostly highway. Will keep you posted on this set.

 

Yes it's a manual. I have very little rubbing only on extreme hard turning.

 

Anytime you put on bigger tires theres gunna be a mileage/power loss.

Its pretty minimal, still cant pass on 2 lane roads comfortably, but you pretty much gotta have a v8 in a truck to do that. I still get 20-21mpg highway which is pretty respectable considering thats pretty much the epa mileage on the stock truck new.

Nice Addition! Isn't it amazing how some rims aand tires really make a truck take shape? I know looking back at my truck when I picked it up to NOW it's a crazy difference.

I love the options of tire sizes with this year truck.

 

How many miles are you getting from a full tank? Mine is an extra cab with the 18.x gallon tank and I'm getting about 220-230 miles from it. I have the same tires, motor, gears, and transmission as you. I realize that my speedo/odometer is slightly off with the bigger tires but 230 divided by 18 equals 12.7 mpg. The truck is running well and I dont drive it very hard at all, why is my mileage so much different from yours? I got about your 20-21 mileage with 30x9.5's previously.

 

the best way to calculate ur mileage for each tank is to start with a full tank... reset the odometer and drive normally until u need or want to fill up again. when u fill up look at ur odometer and do the number of miles u drove on that tank divided by the number of gallons that u just put in.

 

What did you get before...mpg-wise?

I'm getting 18-19 on my '86 4rnr (4:10 gearing) with a new O2 sensor. I'd like to get better, but I suppose what I'm getting (compared to you) is due to the extra weight of my shell. I think there's other things going on with my motor, too, but I'm tracking it all down. If I could get better mpg's than what I'm getting now running 30 x 9.5's (BFG A/T's), I'd settle for my present mileage with bigger tires. Not much bigger, though. I can't afford to regear right now. Besides, it's only a DD'r.
