Supercharger wise with 70k on engine?

Supercharger wise with 70k on engine?

I have a 98 tacoma that was driven offroad, but driven kindly. The previous owner didnt have a lead foot and he was very careful.

However, it does have 71000 miles on it.

Does anyone see any future problems caused by putting a supercharger on a used tacoma? Any or other things to worry about like the engine, head, drivetrain, suspension or otherwise? It also has a 3" suspension lift, if that makes a difference.

Any advice/experience is highly appreciated!

71,000, heck its still new!
I put my SC on when it was at 63K miles and no problems here

I am still in the process of convincing my wife that the SC is a worthwhile investment . If that happens I wont hesitate to put it on my engine, which currently has 69K miles.

You will notice the weak link on these powertrains is the Auto Trans (with the SC). No matter the mileage.

Search on Supercharger and read the posts along with gadget.com in order to gather everyone's experience. With the milage you have, the baby is just breaking in! Take the time a do some research, there is a little more to consider than simply bolting on the S/C, although, it is about that easy!

Things to consider; cooler plugs and thermostat for the ping, ATF Cooler and valve body upgrades for the A/T, 93 octane gas ALL the time, then there is the discussion about fuel modifications.

The S/C adds a lot of fun to driving these trucks, but it is simply the beginning of a journey.

Hell, that makes me feel better, I do have a manual, so all it seems I am looking at is new plugs, thermo, and possibly injectors, but it seems these can be done in steps.

What do you reccommend as far as plugs go? Thermo? Injectors? Ive heard 2 steps cooler on plugs, but dont know, and I dont know about the thermostat or injectors.

Injectors seem like a tweaking thing, something to be done to get another 5% more power after gaining like 30% w/SC... more than I need to worry about, I'm not racing professionally, just on the street against those awful sounding/looking/driving ricers and around those damn minivans!

Am I confused on any of this?

Like tomstin said, search on this subject first. Gadgets site will just about answer every question anyone could possibly have and then some.

You are already on the right track. The injector discussion has been going on for a while. From what I gather, increasing injector size is mainly to curb pinging, performance increase is a bonus.
